Blood in the Vessels – Exodus 7.19

Exodus 7:19 And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone.

A curiosity and part of the miracle. All the water exposed to air was turned to blood. Why did God include the vessels of wood and stone? because they were isolated from being contaminated by the water in the rivers, ponds, and pools of water. The underground water was not affected, but it was a clear indication of God’s command of all waters. This was not just a transference of bacteria or pollution; this was the hand of God.

For those who believe in Jesus, it reminds us that God is in perfect and precise control. He can create a miracle or withhold a miracle. He can work a miracle for a nation or He can work an exacting and specific miracle for an individual. His goal in this miracle was to set his people free. His goal in any miracle, or not working a miracle, is to help his children learn that He can do anything. He controls everything, and He manipulates everything for our benefit. We are His, and He should be ours. There is no detail too small. Trust Him today, believe that He is creating and withholding miracles for your benefit. I imagine that there are many miracles He is working, and they are ignored or explained away by those who choose not to believe, just as Pharaoh did.

Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
