Waiting on Christ like changes – 2 Thessalonians 3.5

2 Thessalonians 3.5 Now may the lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ

We need God to draw our attention away from the world and the love of the world and towards the Love of God. That love is shown in the sacrifices He has made for us. Sacrifices in the form of not meting out his righteous judgment on our selfish ways, not allowing us to deal with the consequences of our folly and sin.
For us to see the results of God directing our hearts will take time to realize, thus we need God to help us find patience as He works in us, on us. Christ was patient from the creation of the world, through the fall of man, the failure of Israel and the crucifixion Jesus waiting for the opportunity to sacrifice himself for our sins.
So be patient God will slowly but surely turn your heart towards him, You must be patient and let God direct the change of your heart. Stay faithful to listening to his voice, reading his word and He will transform your life and bring the peace that you desire.
In the meantime we need to be on guard

2 Thessalonians 3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
