Lacking Experience Genesis 3.22
So, why did God create the Garden of Eden? Why not make the entire world the Garden of Eden? Yet he bordered it off by rivers and limited access, though there was only Adam and Eve initially. When the two are kicked out of the Garden of Eden, an armed guard is placed at the entrance point to protect the Tree of Life.
Ge 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
So God does not want them to be able to eat of the Tree of Life; this is part of the curse that they were warned about.
Ge 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Having eaten of the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, they could no longer eat of that tree that provided life. Mankind would begin to make decisions based on their limited knowledge, limited to their experience, which would only lead to failure. Even today, with multiple data centers able to process the experiences and knowledge of others in seconds, we are still lacking. Lacking experience. lacking all the nuances, emotions, background to make a proper decision. God, however, is eternal and has always been; nothing has happened nor will happen without His knowledge and permission, making it important that we listen to his warnings, we seek his advice, we recognize Him as the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
