Hang on when God seems distant – 1 Corinthians 4.2
1 Corinthians 4:2 “2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
What do we do when it seems the Lord is quiet, not present, doesn’t seem to be answering our prayers, and our joy is waning? We must remain faithful, continuing in prayer, church attendance, and bible reading. We search our hearts and see if there is anything we need to confess or change.
Psalm 139:24 “24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
1 John 1:7 “7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
How much of our mind is occupied with other things as we read? Is there a task we need to add? Scripture memory, more intercessory prayer, and showing thankfulness. Hang on the Lord will take us through times of silence and wilderness. Remember that Elijah that great man of God experienced similar droughts and depression in his own life. Stay true to the things you know you should be doing, stay on the path and wait I say on the Lord.
