His yoke or the worlds chains? – Matthew 11:28-30
Matthew 11:28–30 “28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Our selfishness causes us to want things done our way. It may include others it may even be for others, but we still want it done our way, and we want to see appreciation shown to us. This mindset is the bondage of sin. We wrestle, we are discouraged and ashamed, but we will not let go of this self-centered life. We don’t know anything else. Jesus came as a soft-spoken and wise voice. His words are recorded and speak to our hearts. Conviction comes. We see our need, but we are not willing to take up His yoke and trade it for our chains of sin. Even as believers and followers of Jesus, we wrestle with taking up His yoke and learning from Him.
