Meditate therein Day and Night – Joshua 1.8

Joshua 1:8 “8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

Read this carefully. The action required for success is meditating on the word day and night.  It is not working hard to observe, keep, and be obedient to the content of the scriptures.  We cannot find success or prosperity without meditating on the word of God.  Many of us think that if we know what to do and work hard to obey the commandments, the knowledge and effort will bring success. But NO, No, no, it is the meditation day and night that brings the success and prosperity. It is God working in us both to will and to do his good pleasure.

Philippians 2:13 “13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”

My friends in Christ, we need to commit more time to meditating,  chewing over, thinking through, and contemplating the truths of the scripture, not just reading them but savoring the meaning.  Tasting the truth within them.

Ps 119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
