Profitable or Unprofitable Matthew 25:29-30

Matthew 25:29–30 “29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. 30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

In the previous section the Parable of the talents, three men were given talents by Jesus. Two multiplied, but one did not. The one who did not was cast into outer darkness. Could this be a warning to us all? If we leave our faith in Jesus dormant and never allow the Holy Spirit to work in us, then there is the possibility that we are not saved and face a Godless eternity.

John 15:5 “5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Jesus clearly indicates that those who are of faith will bear fruit, not might, but will. That person is still living in the strength of their flesh. They are not letting the Spirit of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, guide and direct their lives, or there would be fruit.
