Redeem us for thy mercies sake – Psalm 44.26

Psalm 44:24–26 “24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression? 25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth. 26 Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies’ sake.”

Even the priests, the sons of Korah, had times of feeling like the Lord was hidden from them. Life is not fair, but the Lord is just. We are just so limited in our perspective that we need to call out to the Lord and ask him to explain it to us. Stop! Call on the Lord right now, tell him what is disturbing you. Tell him all about your troubles. How else will you get his help? Remember what the Lord declared to Moses:

Exodus 34:6 “6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,”

Call out for his mercy. He wants to be known as a God of mercy. Deliver us from the chaos we have created in our own lives. It is not everyone else’s fault. We are the biggest contributors to our own problems. Help us, Lord, we need your help.
