Spend time with god – Psalm 50

Psalm 50.14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: 15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

I have promised to keep these short so I ask you to read from Psalm 50.7-23 thoughtfully and prayerfully. I believe that God is telling us that He does not need sacrifices and activities but wants our attention for us to call on Him. He wants to bless us, yet we get so caught up in activities and actions that we think will please him that we forget to just give thanks and call on him.

Instead of calling on him do you fill your time with bible study? Making sacrifices for service, like the Israelites offering bulls and lambs. All this takes time and focus on the activity and away from the God. God would just as soon sit and listen to us and discuss the situation rather than have us consumed by the activities. Bible study is an important part of growing close to God, not an activity of filling our mind with information about God.
