Stop Sleeping 1 Thessalonian 5:5-6

1 Thessalonians 5:5–6: “5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.”

Are we saved? Has the Lord of Heaven forgiven our failures and granted us eternal life? God may not seem real or near to you right now, but maybe it’s because you are asleep. Let His light shine on you; ask Him to enlighten your eyes and heart with the wonders of His counsel, the Word of God. With that light, you can root out the areas of darkness in your life and discover what you need to confess (if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness). You can begin to see (He is the light of the world) how His Word applies to your life and your current situations. You can start to see the path to fix those problems and overcome those failures. But first, we—You and I—must wake up. We need to watch and not allow ourselves to be intoxicated by the wiles of the devil or this world, and all that it offers that deadens our ability to live for Him, by Him, and with Him.”
