Tell it to Jesus – Luke 18.40

Luke 18:40 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, 41 Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. 42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. 43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.

So here was a man that had called out to Jesus for healing. Jesus’s disciples tried to silence him but he cried out even more. Jesus probably heard this also. When Jesus approaches the blind man he asks him what he wants? Jesus had heard his cries earlier, Jesus being omniscient and knowing all thing knew what the man needed but did not bring healing until the blind man verbalized his need “that I may receive my sight” Lets not get lost in the miracle itself but in the illustration that though Jesus may know our every need he sits waiting upon us to call out and ask him for healing, help, direction, comfort. Then and only then comes the peace we need as we sing his praises.

Philippians 4.6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
