The Cup of Trembling Isaiah 57.17,22

Isaiah 51:17 “17 Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out.”

Isaiah 51:22 “22 Thus saith thy Lord the LORD, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again:”

Do you see it. In the first verse says that we are going to have to endure his wrath, drink the cup or His fury. Then in the second verse He say he will take it out of our hands. Yes drank that cup of God’s wrath that was meant for us. He took the penalty of our sin so that we could be free. Free not to sin again but free to learn and try again to avoid those pitfalls and times when we reject the Lords counsel for our lives. Never neglect to remember that Jesus paid it all, He took it upon Himself. Your cruel words your slanderous thoughts, your self-centered acts. JESUS PAID IT ALL.
