Unfailing faithfulness – Psalm 89.31-34

Psalm 89:31-34 if they break my statutes and keep not my commandments; then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail. My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

It is always marvelous to be reminded that God is faithful in fulfilling his promise.  If He promised you eternal life when you believed in His Son, Jesus Christ.  Then that is a promise you can rely on.  Remember that it is his promise to you, it is not dependent on whether you do not “break my statutes” or whether you “keep not my commandments”.  Oh yes, there may be the rod of rebuke and the stripes of judgment, but His Lovingkindness will not be taken from you.  Let that thought percolate in your heart and mind today and help you walk taller and work harder in the name of the one who suffered for our transgressions that we might be healed by his stripes.
