Wait on the Teacher Psalm 25.5

Lead me in thy truth and teach me for thou art the God of my salvation on thee do I wait all the day Psalm 25.5

Oh we love Jesus for saving us and washing us from sin, we love the fact that our ticket is paid for and our reservation in made for our trip to heaven and eternity. Then what? Are we sitting on it? Do we really want God to teach us, not skills, not solutions, but truth. The things that really matter to God, the things that are foundational for our character and our work of appreciation to him for the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit.

If He is going to lead us in truth we must be willing to follow, we must free up our schedule and look for his direction. He wants us to follow, not be forced forward by parental, peer, social pressures. In order for that to happen we need to wait on him to reveal the path, the tools, and the truth. I will say that many times I rush through my devotions and check the box never having sensed his presence with me. My temptation is to get up and get about my chores, tasks for the day. But when I wait to hear his voice, for a part of the scripture reading to come alive. When I ask what in todays reading will give me strength, courage, direction and wait (I know who wants to wait) like the verse says. God opens my minds eye to see the truth and see how it applies to me.

Lord Jesus help all those that read this to wait on you, their teacher.
