What does that mean? Revelation 19:10

Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
  • Quite often, I will be reading when all of a sudden a verse will capture my attention. Quite frequently, like this verse, I don’t understand why I get focused on it. I know the context, I understand the meaning in its context, but the verse just keeps rumbling around in my mind. Today, it’s not the entire verse but “Worship God! for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of Prophecy” if the phrase that is stuck.
  • Lord, what is it about this phrase I need to know? Worship God, I do, I read, I preach, I study, I share, so I do worship God. So what am I missing? Lots of time goes by, I pray and ask for guidance. Then I see it, it is there in the first part of the verse, “And I fell at his feet to worship Him.” I do many things, I keep myself occupied, but when was the last time I just stopped everything, fell at his feet and thanked him, praised him, and wondered at the magnificence of what He has done. Just to recognize all the miracles involved in the life of Jesus and how many prophecies are fulfilled in his life and through his life. How many more will be fulfilled in the ages to come? This is more inspiring than a great sermon, a good book, or a powerful song. Just to sit and think of all that Jesus has accomplished through his life and death. Think of the multitude of lives that have been changed. This is the work of God, this is awe-inspiring this leaves me without strength at his feet in worship.
  • Have you contemplated the work of Christ, even if you don’t know the scriptures real well, you know what He has done for you. You know what he wants to do for you. Why not stop and just review Jesus, the spirit of prophecy. Remember that same spirit can help you take non-sense and turn it into a living message. Blessed be the name of the LORD.
