Do You Believe?
What does the Bible say about Heaven
and your relationship with God?
Have you ever thought about what happens when you die? Have you asked yourself, “Then what? Where will I go? The most important question in life that we all need to answer is – “If I were to die today, would I spend eternity in Heaven in the presence of God?” The answer to this very important question depends on one thing only, your relationship with Jesus Christ.
The simple truth is that God wants you to know where you will spend eternity. For God says in His Word, the Bible the following in I John 5:3, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…”
Jesus is the only way. Jesus said, “I am the way the Truth, and the Life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” (John 14:6)
Establishing your relationship with Jesus Christ is as simple as A B C.
A is for Admit
Admit that you are a sinner and recognize your condition
(Romans 3:23) “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
*Sin is anything we do that is contrary to God’s Word and commandments. For example, God’s Word says “be ye kind” in Ephesians 4:32. Have you ever been unkind?
Recognize that your sin separates you from God.
*Romans 6:23 says, “The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
*The “wage” or the payment for our sins is spiritual death and eternal separation from God.
Understand that practicing religion and good works will not cancel out your sin.
*Religions and people try to create their own way to God, but God’s way is that of His grace and forgiveness.
(Proverbs 14:12) says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
(Ephesians 2:8-9) Here the Bible says “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
B is for believe!
Believe the Good News shared in the Bible;
Jesus Christ has provided the way to all who place their faith in Him!
Through his grace, love, and mercy, He provided for our salvation.
Believe John 3:16 that says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Believe Romans 5:8 that says, “But God commendeth (meaning proved or demonstrated) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
*So while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Another way to say this is that while we were in opposition with God, he loved us so much he did not leave us hanging in our sin.
Believe Timothy 1:15 that says “….that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners….”
Believe Isaiah 53:5 that says, “But he was wounded for out transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
*Jesus in His death on the cross and His resurrection, became the payment for our sins. For “the wages of sin,” our sin, was taken upon His shoulders on the cross.
Believe in who Jesus Christ is and what He did on the cross to provide for your salvation. Won’t you receive Jesus Christ as your Saviour today?
Stop trusting in your own works or religion and put your full faith in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of your sins and the gift of Eternal Life.
C is for confess!
Confess Jesus as your Saviour. Reach out to God in prayer
Confess Jesus as your Saviour. Reach out to God in prayer.
*(Romans 10:9-10) “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation…”
Through prayer won’t you invite Jesus to come into your life and save you?
(Romans 10:13) “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. * This verse from the Bible is a promise directly from God to you. It is telling you that if you will yield and pray to Him, confessing that you are a sinner in need of forgiveness, and turn to Him alone to be your Saviour; He promises to save you and give to you the free gift of eternal life.
Your prayer can be as simple as the following;
*Dear God, I know that my sins have separated me from you. I confess that in my sin, I cannot save myself. I turn now to you and you alone to be my Saviour. I ask you to save me from the penalty of my sin, and I trust you to provide the promise forgiveness of my sins and gift of eternal life. Please now help me live my life for You. —Amen
