12-2-2021 The Accuracy of Scripture

Today as I did my reading I was impressed yet again with the accuracy of Scripture. As I read through Daniel 11 I wondered at the detail given in regards to the rise and falls of nations, and rulers.  This astounding prophecy of Daniel delivered by Gabriel the archangel covered 350 years of history that had not yet been told nor could have be predicted.  Daniel wrestled for 3 weeks to find out the future for the people of Israel.  Are we that interested in the future of the church that we would fast and pray?

The accuracy of this chapter has caused critics to cry “fowl” stating that the contents were written after the fact.  Many centuries after Daniel had died.  We believe otherwise, in fact one of the overwhelming themes of Daniel is that God reveals the future through his messengers.  Daniel provides details of dreams three times for two different kings.

The king declared to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to make known to me the dream that I have seen and its interpretation?” Daniel answered the king and said, “No wise men, enchanters, magicians, or astrologers can show to the king the mystery that the king has asked, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. (Daniel 2:26-28a ESV)

I would encourage you to follow the link and read through the incredible correlation of this prophecy with actual events and people. I find it a very fair interpretation of the prophecy and the historical events.
