11-19-2021 The backlash of revenge
God in Ezekiel chapter 23-26 describes the judgment that He will met out to those that sought revenge on Israel for past battles. Moab, Edom, Ammon, Philistia, Tyre all would come under the fierce sword of Nebuchadnezzar because they maliciously and viciously sought revenge on Israel.
Seeking revenge, or to get even for the hurt damage that others afflict upon us is not healthy. It may feel good at the time. Might even seem justified but the backlash can be severe. God will hold us accountable for our refusal to show mercy after all the mercy that He has shown to us.
Matthew 18: 32Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: 33shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? 34And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
